Ian Warburton

Ian studied Fine Art at Bath Academy of Art from 1965 to 1968. Many of his tutors were eminent artists such as David Hockney, Bridget Riley and Richard Hamilton. He continued to study painting at Byam Shaw School of Art in London, where he won several awards and a scholarship to study at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Nancy.

In 1971 he went to London University to complete a diploma in education. Like many artists he had no intention of making teaching a career but he found it to be a rewarding experience. He was Head of Department at Madeley Court School for many years before moving to France to return to painting full time.

Ian has exhibited nationally and has work in public and private collections. He has also exhibited in Chicago, USA.
