|Steve Seal is a digital artist who has pioneered the
creative use of computer technology for over 15 years.
After gaining a degree in 1986 at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham. BA(hons) he went to work for Quantel, who had just invented a revolutionary computer system called Paintbox, which with a new breed of dedicated supercomputer designed for video and film editing , became the standard in Broadcast TV and commercials. While developing software and training artists in the use of these systems, Steve gained valuable insights into the creative possibilities of multi-layering, animation and filtering effects.
After 5 years working for London post -production houses CAL, Harmer Holbrook and The Moving Picture Co., Steve set up his own London based facility in 1992 to work in the areas of high resolution still and moving images, 3-d and multimedia, using Quantel, SGI and Mac systems. Through his 10 year callaborartion with the fashion photographer Nick Knight he completed projects for a diverse range of clients, a few examples of which you will find contained in this site. He is currently working on his own art projects, using cluster technologies.
